Commercial and industrial carpenters construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures. These carpenters are involved in many different kinds of construction, from buildings to highways and bridges to power plants.

AVERAGE HOURLY WAGE WITH EXPERIENCE: $22.00 – $31.00 + Benefits

EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES: 2-year Technical Degree or AGC Apprenticeship or On-The-Job Training

AGC of SD Apprenticeship
Earn while you learn. Instead of taking out thousands in college loans, apprentices work and earn a paycheck during their training. AGC’s apprenticeship programs range from 2-4 years. Architectural Design and Building Construction
The Architectural Design and Building Construction program offers students real construction experience to prepare them for the many employment opportunities available in construction. Beginning with a firm foundation in drafting with instruments, and followed by an introduction to computer aided drafting (CAD), students learn to conceptualize the building process.
